Will Dawson

PhD Researcher

Will grew up in Sussex before studying at the University of Manchester for a BSc in Chemistry which included a year’s industrial placement at Econic Technologies, working on the application of their proprietary CO2-epoxide copolymers in polyurethanes. He then completed an MRes at Imperial College London, with a research project on the isolation of lignin from biomass and its application in carbon fibres. Having decided that it would be a good idea to once again be totally clueless about his work, he joined the EIL for a PhD in Li-ion batteries 2020.

Will’s research focuses on the imaging and analysis of Li-ion battery electrode structure to inform the design of next generation electrodes, as part of the Faraday Institution Nextrode project.
