Alice Llewellyn

PhD Researcher

Prepared with a masters in chemistry, Alice made the move south from St Andrews to London in 2018, only a few years late for the Gin craze. Despite the language barrier she decided to help communicate science to the public shortly after joining the EIL. When she’s not shooting cathodes with X-rays and electrons or helping out the Pizza Hut delivery team she enjoys touring London, running up Greenwich hill and instagraming the love of her life, Bella.

Following a masters project synthesizing and testing novel battery negative electrodes, Alice started her PhD project in the EIL, primarily using X-ray diffraction to study atomic lattice changes in transition metal oxide cathodes during battery degradation.
